During a sermon, Pastor Otha Turnbough spoke openly as the crowed cheers him, about his marriage and his personal satisfaction within it, using Scripture to back his comments up.
Turnbough, admitted that his remarks might likely attract criticism, but said he was prepared for people to discuss them publicly without fear or shame. He explained that he does not weigh himself sexually deprived or dissatisfied, but instead described himself as more sexually satisfied in his marriage.
He interrelated his statement to biblical teaching about intimacy between a husband and his wife. In particular, he referenced Scripture encouraging a man to rejoice in and be satisfied with the wife of his youth. He also pointed to the biblical language in Proverbs concerning finding continual satisfaction in one’s spouse.
Turnbough emphasized that these teachings are found in the Bible and presented his comments as an expression of the marital intimacy Scripture permits and encourages. He concluded by saying that anyone who disagrees with his statement is free to express their opinion publicly.
