Washington, D.C, Pastor, Donna Pisani, a female preacher and Bible teacher who together with her husband, co-founded Capital City Church, has become the talk gist of the town after she uses a sword during a sermon demonstration to explain her interpretation of the biblical phrase “two-edged sword.”
While presenting or passing her message, Pisani referred to the original Greek meaning behind the phrase, explaining that “two edges” can be understood as “two mouths.” She further stated that the imagery has helped her to understand how God’s Word operates in the lives of believers.
In Pisani understanding, one side represents what God speaks, which she described as always being sharp. She moved forward to explained that when believers repeatedly speak and declare what God has said, its truth begins to cut through the lies and negative messages they have unknowingly accepted.
Pisani said people can sometimes hear false statements about themselves so repeatedly that they eventually begin believing them, even though those statements are not true.
Using the sword as a visual illustration, she emphasized the importance of repeatedly declaring God’s Word as a way of confronting those false beliefs and replacing them with biblical truth.
