Christian Author And Minister – Beth Caulfield Wants Churches to Talk More About Unplanned Pregnancy.
Beth Caulfield, an ordained minister, filmmaker and Christian Author, is hoping her newly released movie, “Conceivable”, will encourage churches to look in one direction and have more honest conversations about unplanned pregnancy, faith and the support women and families may need.
The faith-based drama movie is drawn from Caulfield’s own personal experience of becoming unexpectedly pregnant in her mid-40s while attending seminary. At the time, Beth believed she had a more clear understanding of where her life and ministry was heading to. The unplanned pregnancy therefore forced her to reconsider those plans and wrestle with emotions she said she initially felt uncomfortable acknowledging.

Conceivable follows Brielle Burns, a 45-year-old minister, wife and mother whose life changes after discovering she is pregnant when she had a big move of entering a different stage of life. Jana Lee Hamblin stars as Brielle, while Caulfield serves as a writer, director and producer.
Caulfield says, one purpose of her movie is to create space for conversations necessary things that can sometimes be avoided in Christian communities. She believes the political and cultural sensitivity surrounding pregnancy and abortion can make people afraid to discuss the subject openly.
Instead of just presenting the story simply as a debate, Caulfield wants audiences to consider the real people and families who have been affected by unexpected pregnancies. She has also encouraged churches to become familiar with practical resources, including pregnancy resource centers that can offer counseling, medical assistance, diapers, clothing and other forms of support.
The film further addresses the emotional experiences of some women who have lived through abortion. Caulfield said an encounter with an older woman after a screening convinced her that abortion recovery ministries could play an important role in helping people process unresolved emotions.

At the heart of Caulfield’s message is faith. She hopes Conceivable will encourage people facing unexpected circumstances to seek God, remain open to His direction and experience grace through difficult seasons. The movie “Conceivable” is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 16, 2026.
