Cornerstone Church Board Stands Behind Pastor David Wigington Amid Prostitute Book Allegations

The Cornerstone Christian Board Fellowship in Bloomington, area of Indiana, has made it known publicly that they’re expressing their support for it Lead Pastor David Wigington following the allegations concerning his conduct during ministry trips.

On sunday, September 27, 2026, the Cornerstone board member Gregory Lamar read an open statement to the congregation which described the allegations against Wigington as purely false. Lamar further said the board believes Wigington is innocent and that both David and his wife, Shana, continue to have the board’s “full confidence, love and their support.”

The statement follows after former longtime Cornerstone church congregant and volunteer known as Jo Fipps reported concerns about Wigington to the Indiana District of the Assemblies of God in May. Fipps said he had encountered several text messages that appeared to show Wigington arranging appointments with escorts and erotic massage services, and this includes during periods when the pastor was reportedly traveling for ministry. After the allegations were made public, we later reported that dozens of texts and emails appeared to document such arrangements.

Wigington has denied every bit of the allegations, in which h described them as “malicious lies and fabrications” in a September 24 response to The Roys Report.

The Indiana District of the Assemblies of God has reportedly been investigating the matter for more than four months. Cornerstone’s board said Wigington has cooperated with the process and voluntarily submitted to accountability measures.

Lamar also announced that the church’s board had asked David and Shana to take vacation time away from Cornerstone to rest and recover from the emotional toll of the situation. He further said that the time away was not a suspension or disciplinary action and said it did not represent a change in the board’s confidence in Wigington.

The board then said it will provide an update to the congregation when the district investigation is completed.
