Philip Anthony Mitchell and Tim Timberlake Preach About the Fear of God in Houston (Street Preachers Podcast)
Pastors Philip Anthony Mitchell and Tim Timberlake have taken the gospel to another dimension as they challenge the Christians to recover a deeper reverence for God and this happened during a live recording of their Street Preachers podcast (SPP) in Houston, Texas.
The episode which was, titled “LIVE FROM HOUSTON | The Fear of God,” was published on Street Preacher YouTube channel on September 29, 2026. The two ministers used the gathering to discuss on topics like holiness, repentance, and the importance of living differently after accepting Jesus Christ as our personal lord and saviour.
Mitchell stated that, although God is loving and invites believers into a relationship with Him, God remains holy and worthy of reverence. He went further to explain that fearing God does not simply mean you should be afraid of Him, but living a life which is worth it with an awareness of His character that influences our everyday decisions.
During the message, Mitchell also flashbacks on his way of life before becoming a Christian, describing his past life marked by violence, drug dealing, drunkenness, sexual immorality, and hostility toward God. He then used his personal testimony to illustrate the transformation he believes should follow genuine repentance after accepting God.

Mitchell during the podcast challenged Christians to examine whether their present lifestyles or ways of living reflect the faith they profess. He stated that receiving God’s grace should lead you to obedience, humility, and a growing desire to live according to biblical teachings instructed by God.
He went further to say repentance must be accompanied by a commitment to holiness. Rather than you treating forgiveness as permission which back you up to continue in sin, he encouraged believers to pursue a changed life grounded in their relationship with Christ.
The discussion also addressed the difference between outward religious appearances and genuine spiritual transformation. Both ministers highlighted the importance of remaining faithful to Scripture rather than allowing cultural expectations or public attention to determine Christian conduct.
The Houston gathering formed part of the Street Preachers podcast tour, through which Mitchell and Timberlake bring their conversations about the gospel to audiences in different cities.
NOTE; Their central message was that Christians should not become so comfortable with God’s love that they lose sight of His holiness. Instead, believers are called to respond to His grace through reverence, obedience, and a life increasingly shaped by Jesus Christ.
