American Christian actor and Reacher star Alan Ritchson, has revealed that some of the Hollywood studios he is working with have told him to stop speaking publicly about politics, saying he has received several calls asking him to stay quiet.
Ritchson made this situation known during his appearance at Fan Expo Canada in Toronto earlier this month. According to some verified reports available online, the actor was speaking about his increasingly public comments on political issues when he described conversations, he said he had received calls from studios.
Ritchson stated that, he has been told to stop discussing anything concerning politics publicly, using strong language to describe the requests. He suggested that his willingness and personal opinion to speak openly has created concern among people in the entertainment industry about the potential consequences of actors becoming actively involved in political debates.
During the same appearance while still speaking, Ritchson said he would refrain from discussing certain political matters because Sony studio had asked him not to. However, he still made a brief reference to the ongoing debate surrounding the release of documents which is connected to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The comments follow after the Christian actor, Ritchson has become increasingly outspoken about political topics and social issues in recent months.
Back in July, Ritchson was on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, where he spoke at length about politics and encouraged other people in the entertainment industry to also speak up about issues they believe are important in the country. He also discussed the Epstein files and expressed strong criticism of President Donald Trump’s handling of the issue.
Ritchson’s willingness to publicly discuss issues is not limited only about politics, the actor has also been open about his Christian faith since the starting of his career.
He has openly spoken about Christianity, prayer and Scripture through his social-media project InstaChurch, where he countlessly shares Bible-related reflections and conversations about faith. In a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ritchson explained that his Christian faith plays the major role in how he approaches life and his work, balancing them up without stress.
Ritchson has also appeared in faith-based productions, including the 2024 film Ordinary Angels, in which he starred alongside Hilary Swank. The film tells the story of a community coming together to help a father whose young daughter needs a liver transplant.
His Christian identity has therefore remained one important part of his public display life, even as his acting career continue to expand through projects such as Reacher.
The recent comments about Hollywood studios has added another dimension to Ritchson’s increasingly public outspoken voice. While he acknowledged that he had been asked not to discuss anything about politics, his remarks still suggest that he remains willing to speak about issues he considers important.
For Ritchson, faith, entertainment and public conversations have increasingly overlapped, making him one of the most outspoken Christian actors working in mainstream entertainment today.
